Teaching

I have a strong passion for education. I believe that teaching at any level requires proper training and development of effective pedagogical methodologies, which led me to also obtain a formal degree in education (BEd). This has been an invaluable asset for my teaching and mentoring. I can teach a wide range of courses in applied mathematics, as well as interdisciplinary courses in areas such as mathematical biology, biophysics and bioinformatics. I have worked with and mentored students, postdoctoral fellows and researchers with various academic backgrounds and skills – engineers, biologists, math majors, computer scientists etc. I am also interested in visual reasoning and representation and in my presentations I regularly use well designed visuals, animations and physical models. I consider myself a lifelong learner and educator who is committed to academic service and knowledge dissemination. I have spoken as a keynote and invited speaker at many conferences about my research.
